We have two Point Awards Programs for our junior exhibitors and showmen. Both of these programs start with the first show of the season and continue through the last show of the season, which is being held on June 25th, 2011. The high point awards will be given out at the Awards Ceremony immediately following the 4-H Meat Goat Wether Show at the Indiana State Fair. High Point Winners must be present to receive their awards.
MEAT GOAT WETHER EXHIBITOR AWARDS PROGRAM
The top ten Junior exhibitors at each show earn points based on the placing of their top three wethers. These points accumulate throughout the show season, and the two exhibitors with the highest points receive both monetary and other awards at the Awards Ceremony.
SHOWMANSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM
This awards program which was introduced in 2008 by the Dahnke's, has been expanded to include monentary awards. The top 5 showmen in each division, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior earn showmanship awards points, which accumulate throughout the show season. Each Division high point winner will receive monentary and other awards at the Awards Ceremony.
JUNIOR SHOWS AND THE AWARDS PROGRAMS ARE OPEN TO ANY YOUTH WHO IS 18 YEARS OLD OR YOUNGER AS OF JANUARY 1ST OF THE CURRENT YEAR AND WHO IS PART OF A FAMILY MEMBERSHIP IN IBGC, OR WHO JOINS IBGC AS A JUNIOR MEMBER. JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE $10.00 AND ALL JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP DOLLARS ARE USED FOR THE AWARDS PROGRAMS. Specific details for the shows and Awards Programs can be found on the Show Rules Page.

MEAT GOAT WETHER EXHIBITOR AWARDS PROGRAM
GRAND CHAMPION - HIGHEST POINTS: $300.00
RESERVE CHAMPION: NEXT HIGHEST POINTS: $100.00
Additional awards will be announced at the Awards Ceremony. In the case of a tie for Grand Champion,
the awards will be combined and distributed between the two exhibitors according to the Show
Committee's decision. In case of a tie for Reserve Champion, the Reserve awards will be split between
the two individuals, according to the Show Committee's decision.
SHOWMANSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM
EACH DIVISION CHAMPION - HIGHEST POINTS: $50.00
Additional awards will be announced at the Awards Ceremony. In the case of a tie, the awards will be
combined and distributed according to the Show Committee's decision in the same manner as the
awards for the Meat Goat Wether Awards Program.
